Houston Philanthropist Anika Jackson Hosts Swanky 4O’s-Themed Affair

Over 200 alluring guests from the East and West coasts gathered at the Junior League of Houston Ballroom to celebrate the 40th Birthday of Anika Jackson, Philanthropist and 2014 recipient of Houston Woman Magazine’s coveted HER Awards. Guests dazzled in 40’s-themed attire and elegant pieces by David Peck USA, while enjoying the sounds of classic jazz and swing by The Texas Gypsies, swing dance performances by the Houston Hepcats, magic tricks by Ethan the Juggler and rock portraits by Bonnie Blue. Rounding out the celebration were the vivacious 90’s throwback beats of DJ Dimitri Craven who had guests sweating out their pin-curls, victory rolls and chignons late into the evening. The swanky affair raised over $10,000 for charities: Houston Give Back and Learn Grow Lead.
